Yann Faisant_ Opus Magnum

Yann Faisant devised the Opus Magnum project from 2013 to 2017 as the art of demonstrating the persistence of nature within an unfriendly man-made universe and showing how crucial it is to preserve the fundamental balance between man and nature.

Opus Magnum stages the journey and setting-up of an inflatable sculpture on sites faced with critical environmental challenges.

His work relies on two emblematic figures: the apple and gingko biloba.
The golden apple, made of bronze and 24-carat gold, through its representation as the fruit of knowledge with its magnitude and universality stands as the central focus in Yann Faisant artistic message.
It alludes to lead being turned into gold to inner and outer quests and all that needs to be preserved.
Each one of the seven sculptures is adorned with a ginkgo biloba fan-shaped leaf. This tree owes its definite uniqueness to its virtually legendary history combined with its sturdiness biochemistry and great resistance to unfavourable environment.

Yann Faisant created and exhibited these seven sculptures (7,6cm to 137cm ) bronze apples with a ginkgo biloba leaf sitting on the top of them and featuring gold-foil patina arranged in a perfectly continuous sequence. The artist drew on the golden number theory also referred to as divine proportion to produce his composition. The seven sculpture are intended to stay where they are shown as an image of strength and resistance, the inflatable sculpture built following the golden number sequence as he number 13, is led to go to the 50 places listed in danger to designated a UNESCO world Heritage Site.

Yann Faisant sculpture will be shown in Gare Saint Lazare, Paris from the 1st of November until the 15 of December 2017.

His art has been exhibited in Marseille ( European city for Art in 2013 ), in Venice, in Marrakech during the conference of parties 22 and in Paris and in numerous galleries and Art fair all around the world.
