Behind the Lens of Old-School Photographer Fred Aufray

Creative Mapping caught up with french photographer Fred Aufray at Paris’s famed artist meet-up, Café de Flore to find out all about his coveted career as a photographer for the fashion industry’s biggest magazines such as Vogue, Dazed & Confused, French Elle, GQ, Jalouse, Tank, British Vogue, andthe Sunday Times. With clients such as Le Printemps, Repossi, Monoprix, Etam and Nexcare to his name, Aufray’s impressive career spans well beyond the foray of fashion and luxury with his photographs of female nudes which have been exhibited in galleries in Paris, London and Berlin and later published in his book entitled Nu. Aufray tells Creative Mapping all about his processes, artistic style and visions, his preference for film over digital shooting techniques, and what’s wrong with photography today.
