Architect Friederich Ludewig of ACME reveals what goes into designing the London 2012 Olympic Park and Masterplan

London-based German architect Friedrich Ludewig, the Director of the London firm ACME, spoke with Creative Mapping about his involvement in the development of the Masterplan and the Olympic Park for the 2012 London Olympics.  In this first half of our Olympic series, Ludewig talks about how he and his team won the international competition to work on the development and infrastructure planning for the Olympic park, the importance of integrating the design with the landscape and adapting the structure to a post-Olympic public space. In Part II of our interview series, Ludewig delves deeper into his own career,  his firm ACME, and the philosophies behind his architectural projects.
