Simon Hamilton, Advocate for British Design
Founder of ‘Simon Hamilton & Associates’, Simon Hamilton, is a British interior designer with a contagious passion for design. He’s a constant traveller, an advocate for British design – and he’s also the International Director of the British Institute of Interior Design.
Simon recently spoke with Creative Mapping about his work, and the intimate processes undertaken when liaising with his clients.
“As a creatively driven person I embrace design in all its forms. The importance of good design is underestimated as it positively shapes and influences everyday life. We canlearn a lot from sharing experiences which makes collaborations educational and socially rewarding.” Simon Hamilton
The spaces we live say as much about us as the way we dress; our homes are not only a place to take refuge from the world, but they are also an expression of who we are. From the colours on our walls, to our lighting, to the way we style our furnishings, we are influencing a feel and atmosphere that is unique to us.
And the places we choose to spend time are also an indicator of who we are and what we like; from bars and restaurants to clubs and cafes… the creating of these spaces is a specialised field ‚ and those that create them are interior designers and architects.
