Raw Color, Installation, Graphic Design and Photography
What’s in a name? The first project of Dutch designer duo Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach involved research on natural pigments originating from vegetables.
Use of these raw materials gave them the idea to call their new company, Raw Color.
Today, Raw Color is known for a stylish and sophisticated mixing up of the fields of graphic design and photography.
Creative Mapping had a chat with Christoph about his work…. and some of music that inspires him.
CM: Where do you live and where did you study?
Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven
CM: What do you do?
Run a Design studio called Raw Color.
CM: How did you start as a professional and who are your clients?
It started by coincidence. Daniera ter Haar & I took a studio together and started with self-initiated projects for art exhibitions, which led to commissioned work.
We always try to create self initiated projects besides our paid assignments. It’s great to combine artistic projects and commissioned projects. Our clients are from various backgrounds: cultural institutions, design related to fashion, ie: Philips Design, Onmatopee, Ontour, Merkx + Girod.
CM: Your favourite working music tracks?
The usual suspects. We listen to a lot of webradio. 3voor12 luisterpaal; a great Dutch radio station to listen to new releases.
