NACO – Rebellious Child of Fashion
Already impressed by fashion designer Naco’s creativity with the presentation of his collection Art Is Resistance for Paris Fashion Week S/S 2014 we are delighted to discover his new work of art. Naco has decided to present his “SUPER COOL” FW 14 collection in another way than with a show or with real model, like last season.
He thus asked to the photographer and director Natydred to realize a very beautiful movie, inspired by “Qui êtes vous Polly Maggoo” from William Klein and the intellectual new wave in general.
You might discover in the movie Naco’s alter ego, Madame Paris, playing the fashion editor…
After the NACO-PARIS presentation of it’s “SUPER COOL” FW 14 collection at Galerie NUKE, in Paris, watch the movie that was projected which is the main tool this season to present his new collection. It was also completed by a scenography of some silhouettes:
NACO – PARIS, Unisex Collection Fall Winter 2014/2015
“Most of the time, when I design a collection, I’m inspired by ordinary things or everyday life and sometimes by things I don’t like…probably it’s from my systematic rebel spirit… So this season I decided to really use this fact and create the collection in this way:
Using the things I don’t like as a leitmotiv: burgundy color, too big polka dots pattern, black sequins embroideries, animal prints, silk satin, retro style.
Of course I used all those elements with the same passion as for things I love!
It can be interesting to work in this mood, unusual elements are like new perspectives!
I never choose the easier way to create …
So this collection is like a question mark, without answer:
Good or bad taste? Beautiful or ugly? Minimalist or just boring? Couture or ready to wear? Radical or easy?
All those questions are supposed to be IMPORTANT for a fashion designer! I don’t have any the answers! I just try new propositions !
At least the winter 2014/2015 is a kind of casual/sporty luxury unisexwear collection. I choose a kind of fake dramatic short movie inspired by William Klein’s “Qui Etes Vous Polly Maggoo ?” and the intellectual new wave in general to show the collection. Once again it was an occasion to be different even in this way ! It was so interesting to do it and we had so much fun to do it !!!
Yes we love fashion, we KNOW it’s an industry, OK it’s about money but, please do not forget it’s also IMPORTANT to have FUN!!”
