Clerkenwell Design Week – Platform Exhibitors
Platform Exhibitor – Clerkenwell Design Week 2015
We discovered more talents during Clerkenwell Week. From various and different approaches and philosophies, Clerkenwell Design presented us with a high level of creativity…
TWO OR THREE THINGS
Danura Wlodarska was inspired by Jean-Luc Godard’s film “Two or Three things I Know About Her’. She designed those unique coffee tables, inspired by the philosophical, 60’s take on the film- swirling patterns, walnut veneers are an homage to the film’s visuals.
OUT OF THE VALLEY FURNITURE
Designer/Maker Rupert McKelvie produces ecologically sensitive furnitures and cabins and shelters, designed with traditional building techniques combined with green technologies and materials. His collection explores seasonality and natural weathering processes.
Founded by Byung, DesignK mixes the traditional and the avant-garde. Humour, quality and our favourite, the geometry collection inspired by the Bauhaus. Very graphic will probably buy it online asap before you lovely folks beat us to it. limited editions after all.
A WHITE WORKSHOP
Alexander White is an award winning designer with great inspirations…I stopped at his stand to look at his very geometric white little ceramic mosaics, with black grout. But his big chair Monroe chair impressed me: Named MONROE after its striking resemblance to Marilyn Monroe’s white pleated dress as she steps over the subway grate in NYC.
REASON SEASON TIME
Reclaimed and sustainable materials.
Furniture handcrafted from reclaimed woods and metals, this company produces quirky and luxury furniture and collaborates with new designers and makers.
PA Tricot fabric lamps on bended rods..sounds..weird, right? Well the result is astonishing- poetic, ethereal…cinematographic even. Stunning !!
Check..and checkmate…wait, how does it go again? well, who cares- those chess games are are striking…they ooze of luxury, and are more- for most of us hhhmmmm-luxurious pieces of art with hand-carved staunton pieces than actual games. This would impress any of your guests…even if you do not play! Having said that, the chess game culture is very seductive..and strategic. obviously. Just impress.
Brilliant. simply brilliant, Quirky use of stones and natural materials…Next, try it for yourself !!!
