What Went Down at Art Basel Miami 2015

Art Basel Miami 2015, the annual international art show that bounces between Basel, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Miami Beach connecting top art galleries, artists, buyers and enthusiasts. It is the ultimate meeting point for the art world, and all the crazy eccentricities and celebration that comes with it. We've already covered how to survive art basel, and now we're looking back at the madness and art wonder that went down at Art Basel Miami 2015.

1. Lenny Kravitz turns the camera on the paparazzi for his Art Basel photo exhibition:

The singer's exhibition took an ironic art imitates life turn. For his Art Basel 2015 show, Kravitz intended to snap profound photographs of people in everyday life, but every time he stepped outside with his camera, he was bombarded by paparazzi and fans. So Kravitz decided to turn the camera on them... it started as a joke and turned into something more.

Kravitz told the associated press:

"It started out being a real nuisance because I wanted to shoot. I wanted time to do my thing and be anonymous [...] It's really weird that people feel they have a right to invade your space in any kind of way." -Lenny Kravitz

"Life and art is about accepting and taking what you're organically given ... this is what life is bringing me at this moment, don't be pissed off about it."-Lenny Kravitz

"Sometimes people will say to me, 'Can I have a picture?' And I'll say, 'Look, I can't right now,' but I'll say, 'It's so nice to meet you' and I'll take my glasses off and look them in the eye ... and I'll give them a hug and they'll say, 'No, no, no, I want the picture'... and I'm like, 'We just had a moment."-Lenny Kravitz
